Located in the Urseren Valley between the Gotthard, Furka and Oberalp passes, Jugendherberge Hospental has a garden and ski storage facilities. Hospental Train Station is just 500 metres away. A lovely hostel with hotel category services. We stayed in a 4 bed room and the beds were comfortable. We also reserved dinner (closed menu), where the host (Jürg) welcomed his guests and introduced the menu. Communication with Jürg was efficient and quick too. The dining room was cosy and we enjoyed the interaction with the other guests, and Jürg will come up and check if everything was alright. We happened to chance upon this place as we were doing the Zermatt-Chur route, and this was centrally located for a overnight stay before we took the first regional train over the Oberalppass.

Set only 40 metres from the bus stop in Wassen, Gotthard Backpacker offers free parking and bicycle storage. A common kitchen and a lounge area are provided. Excellent to stay for one night as stopover and when you hike for the Alps.

Set in the Ursern Valley, Gasthaus Skiklub is surrounded by the Oberalp and the Gotthard passes. The Andermatt cable car to Gemsstock is 100 metres away and rooms have free Wi-Fi. Lovely Moira inherits her grandfather’s house and offers attentive hospitality to our stay. The breakfast she prepared was exceptional!!! (even in a slow season when we visited)
