Located around 2.9 km from Lords Beach, the hostel with free WiFi is also 1.2 km away from Hobart Convention And Entertainment Centre. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, a tour desk and currency exchange for guests. Mo goes above and beyond for the comfort of the guest and is very welcoming. Heaters in the room are very helpful in the winter and Mo even went out of his way to put an extra little heater when I was in the common area alone and asked if I wanted it closer to me. The way he takes care of the plants in the living room is another super cute detail that adds a home like feeling to the place. The location is perfect as it was walking distance to the center as well as the Skybus to/from airport and very quiet. The common area feels like a home living room and the kitchen is well equipped although it feels a bit small when there are a few people in there simultaneously but it wasn’t always full. It is also well maintained as there was housekeeping on a daily basis.

It is within walking distance of Salamanca Place which is home to the famous Saturday Market. The beds were very comfortable and our room was very well located. Bathrooms and facilities were very clean.

Safe, clean, friendly staff and great location
Great location close to the airport and city. As a solo traveller, I appreciated the comfort and ease of moving through the property internally in a safe manner. The room was spacious and well equiped, comfortable and clean. After a swim, exercise, spa and sauna, I enjoyed a hearty meal at the bistro. Would like to return here and explore the grounds some more.
Great location right in the centre of Hobart and surrounded by many city attractions and landmarks. The waterfront is just 2 blocks away from the hostel.
The property was well equipped, clean, warm and in a great location. We were in a group of 5 for a girls weekend away and there was plenty of room. It was a cheap uber to Salamanca and nice 20 min walk. Off street parking was too small for out larger hire car but we didn't have a problem finding street parking.
I tried the YHA, the Pickled frog, and this one, and it is the best hostel in Hobart in my opinion. The hostel is huge, big rooms, large common spaces. Maybe I feel like that because there was not a lot of people when I was there.

Swansea Backpackers was in a great location. Only a short walk from the main town and had a good breakfast and dinner option right next door. Our double room was comfortable and clean. The two men who (I assume) run the hostel are friendly.
The hostel is great. The bed was very comfortable, the dormitory room size was decent and they provided all the facilities that you would need for a short stay. The lower bunk beds even had privacy curtains which you could pull across when sleeping and a small shelf and charging point near each bed. The location is very convenient and a short walk into Hobart city centre and close to the Salamanca market. Good value for money. I would certainly recommend this place to other travellers.
clean, excellent location, safe, no dramas. was a bit shocked to see free ear plugs on entry but you don’t need them- pod not noisey at all, way quieter than a normal hostel. so close to everything, you can walk everywhere from here. hot tip: around the corner at Saigon Kitchen you can get a delicious Pho and the best fresh juice and it’s cheap as.
