Authentic Bicycle Tours and Backpackers, hotel in Soweto

Authentic African Bicycle Tours and Back Packers is located in Soweto, 1.2 mi from Orlando Stadium. The property has a garden with thatched roof and barbecue facilities.

Traveling for the first time into this part of "historical" South Africa and after hearing about the negative stuff, I wasn't sure how it will be, but "Lungi" made it a "smooth" ride. He knows many people around and will help you out in getting rid of the negative perceptions/stereotypes you have about this place. He can also spontaneously organize tours and guide you in showing different places around Jo'burg/Soweto. After staying here, I can say that staying here was better than in staying in Jo'burg. The room & the toilets are clean...and no mosquitoes (at least inside the room). So, it was a learning & a great stay! :)

Exceptional experience staying in Soweto in such a friendly and safe environment and experiencing their food, music and dance. The bike tour by Linda was so informative where we got in touch with the locals who stole part of our heart. Greatly recommend!

I loved my stay here. I felt it was important to see another side of JoBurg and staying here was perfect. The room and bed were very comfortable and clean and an easy 10 min walk into Vilakazi St. I was traveling solo and felt safe. Hosts Cynthia and Lungi were very welcoming. Lungi’s tour of Soweto Is a must. he is font of information. I really enjoyed walking around the town with him. He was very generous with information and stories. I would recommend people stay here.

This is by far one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff are AMAZING! Super friendly and really helpful. The hostel is clean, well equipped if you want to cook and the meals they can provide on request are tasty and reasonably priced. I did the 4 hour bike tour in Soweto with them as well which was brilliant. I felt super safe in the area as a solo female and will definitely go back. Really easy to get Ubers into Joberg for museums etc.

Lebo’s backpackers is not a simple hostel, it’s more a family and a community. Located in Soweto township offers you the change to get to know this important part of jo’burg. Staff is super friendly, rooms are big and clean with a lot of common space, the food is very good and freshly made, the tours are a must to be done. Truly reccomended!

It's tough to find a great place to stay where everything aligns so perfectly. Lebo's backpacker delivered the best with a warm and engaged staff, a beautiful creative space, a vibrant environment, a safe haven, and comfortable and quality accomodation with great food! I felt part or the community and appreciated the exchanges with the people in charge of keeping it the best place to stay around. I can't wait to go back!

I had a very pleasant stay at Soweto Backpackers. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. They were always available to answer any questions I had. The hostel was clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and plenty of space to relax and socialize. The location was also a highlight. There are plenty of activities that you can book at the hostel!

Amazing setup in a place less visited. The hostel seems to have enamoured itself with the community and we felt very safe wandering the streets back towards the museum on our own. The bicycle tour was amazing, take the long version. It's really not that far and well worth it. As for the hostel, very chilled setup and great opportunity to meet the locals who are employed by the hostel. Don't hesitate to stay the night.
