DC International Hostel 1, hotel in Washington, D.C.

DC International Hostel 1 is located in Mount Vernon Square, 0.6 mi from DC convention center and from Old Dominion Brew House. Free WiFi access is available.

I've been a guest for a while.-- The staff are excellent and work hard to attend to the needs of all customers. The business closes at 9 pm, but staff will often stay late if they know someone was delayed, to help ensure that traveler has a place to stay. They will make the extra effort, to the best of their ability, to make a guest's stay as nice as possible. Since Hostels have limited space and resources, that results in reduced costs for lodging of travelers; so there is that give & take to it. With this in mind, the staff & management strive to make the best of the situation.

Great hotel in a great location. A few minutes walk from Union Station and 2 minutes from the metro. Food options nearby and they were fine with us eatingin the lobby spaces. Really helpful staff. Great atmosphere and spaces. Not a big room but well designed, quiet and comfortable. We've booked another stay when we return ti Washington and got it much cheaper booking further in advance.

I felt incredibly safe and comfortable in this hostel. One of the best I've visited! Loved the cafe and lounge area downstairs. Clean facilities and pleasant guests. The capsules in the room were quite nice and modern, and I enjoyed the extra level of privacy they gave. The private bathrooms were fantastic, as well.

This is more of an upscale youth hotel. It was very cute and the set up was really comfortable. BUT, at 66, I am too old to share a bathroom with strangers - had to buy some flip flops at the Target across the street. Still, I really liked the place very much. It is bright and cheery. I had never stayed in a youth hostel before - and now I have! I really enjoyed myself (despite the fact I would never go back).

Great location, very clean, helpful staff. They kept my luggage since I arrived too early for the check in, so I could go explore the city. I liked the vibe of the hostel and the area around. Internet was good.

Great location next to U Street metro station and lots of opportunities in close proximity to eat, shop, or to have a drink. Easy check-in process and great coffee in the lobby, made by the friendliest hostel staff. Considering the expensive prices for accommodation in the area, it can be considered a "cheap" alternative.

The best hostel I have been through all my trips in 4 continents: it is a hostel with hotel equipment and services . Great location . Big room with fashionable decoration promoting privacy through separating curtains. The room is cleaned every day and the cleaner is putting new towel on each bed daily . We faced a small issue with the WC by night ; the plomber came and fixed it within 10 minutes from informing the reception .

This was the cheapest option to stay in central Washington DC. It was nice to to meat and discuss with local people. There is a metro and citybike station very close. The neighbourhood feels safe except for the street of the hostel itself.
