If you backpack to Phitsanulok, stay at the Karma hostel. Mark is a most wonderful host that will help you get to know the city in an instant. The rooftop is amazing and a great place to meet fellow travelers.
Bonus tip: If your stay overlaps with Clemens (a loyal customer of the Karma hostel) ask if he wants to show you around. He knows a lot about the city and makes a great guide :D

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hostelbed and Retreat in Phitsanulok! Sunny, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. The old Thai-style building added so much charm and character to my stay. The location was perfect, allowing me to easily explore the area. Plus, Sunny kept the place spotless, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Phitsanulok!

I arrived after midnight by train and the owner allowed me to do a self check in which went smoothly. The area is safe and peaceful. I walked from the station around 1am and felt very safe. The place is homely and comfortable, has everything i need and worth the price.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Comfortable and roomy. When you book a cheap hotel room, you don’t expect luxury. The room and bed were clean and the hotel provided everything we needed. More so, in fact as there was a good sized fridge in the room, a balcony and breakfast.

Calm hostel hidden in the small area, however, you can go to the main tourist attractions easily. 5 - minute walk from Phitsanulok Railway Station. Feeling like staying at home.
This is the type of hostel you go to make friends. To have great conversations and meet special people. It make me feel like couchsurfing or backpacking 10 years ago. The best of this place is Mark the owner and his wife, whom I havent got the name. But they were the friendliest and most helpful ever. Great for open minded people, backpackers and easy going travellers. Loved it.
Amazing stay one of the best hostels I've stayed at. The staff is amazing, shoutout to Mark the hostel owner always willing to help out with any questions I had and things to do in the city
