This little gem was easy to book as the owners son speaks English . Communication was definitely easy and as I'm a hiker I couldn't be exact about when I would arrive.However there was someone there to greet me when I arrived as the owners live on site I booked a single room with share bathroom. It was perfect,clean and with all the facilities I needed including access to a fridge. There was a nice place to sit outside and heaps of room for bicycles in the enclosed area.
The lady owner was so friendly and helpful and available at any time I needed her.
There was a supermarket about 1xminute walk away and the restaurant/bar area a 5 minute walk maximimum . However the accomodation is in a very quiet residential street.

A comfortable, clean, calm, relaxed accommodation in the old upper centre of Zemun, 5 min away from the local bus station. It has all the necessary amenities, top wifi, the bed is great, no street noise with the windown looking at the garden. Aircon gives enough warmth in cold months. Not overpretentious so you start feeling very relaxed in it very soon. The place is very calm for a hostel and Alexander is a good host. A shared kitchen. All that at a budget price for Belgrade and Zemun. There are a few eating locations nearby, especially Stara pivnica with excellent Serbian food, and shops and markets inside 5 minutes walking circle. Be back soon.

I had a wonderful stay at Hostel Kavala in Zemun. The property is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located close to the promenade, making it ideal for exploring the area.
I stayed in a single-occupancy room with a double bed and a foam mattress, which was very comfortable. The room, located on the first floor at the rear of the property, was peaceful and away from any noise from the neighboring restaurant. I appreciated the choice between a feather pillow and a hollow fiber pillow, catering to different preferences.
The amenities were excellent. The super-fast heating boiler ensured hot water was always available, and the central heating kept the room cozy until late at night. The spacious bathroom with a shower was impeccably clean.
The room was well-furnished with a table, chair, single dresser, and nightstand, making it practical for any traveler. The friendly and welcoming owner made my stay even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend Hostel Kavala for anyone visiting Zemun – it’s a great combination of comfort, convenience, and excellent hospitality.

Everything was perfect the host Slavica was excellent. Room was clean and warm. The location was also very good just across Palace of Serbia. Bus station is also nearby.
