One of the best hostels we've stayed in, for the price you couldn't ask for more! The staff are so friendly and the facilities are kept immaculate. We loved that they offer free shuttles down to the beach, and their activities are very reasonable and really good. It's located opposite a fantastic cafe, and has a really nice rooftop area to relax on with its own little bar. The vibes are very relaxed, definitely not a party hostel which was perfect for us. If you're staying on Moalboal, I really would reccomend staying here. We wish every hostel was like this.

Chief Mau is in a perfect location right on the main street of Moalboal, surrounded by restaurants, shops and beaches. All facilities work well and the private rooms are a great size with a large bathroom. The hostel has a nice restaurant/bar and a comfortable common area with a pool table and lounge chairs. Laundry service and filtered water is also offered to guests. All staff were so kind, welcoming, and helpful, always making the effort to know the guests by name, and recommending/arranging tours to local attractions. Chief Mau even had the cutest dogs and chickens living on the property. We enjoyed our stay so much, we were so sad to leave. We met so many wonderful people during our stay, which was a bonus. We recommend this place to anyone and will always come back if ever in Moalboal again.

Great location, but the road to get to the hostel is quite muddy and dark at night. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, and the breakfast and drinks are delicious and we'll priced.

Great location close to Kawasan Falls, and you can book your canyoneering (and many other South Cebu tours) through the resort. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. High quality and reasonably priced food in the restaurant.
Loved the hospitality. The owners made sure I got a the best transportation as I was headed for a night out alone. I had expected a tuktuk and got a whole fancy jeep instead. The driver was also so sweet making sure I was OK the whole night and made sure I got back safe.
It’s very green, cozy place with beautiful landscape. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. If you wish to have time off from city life style, I recommend this place. Our room was a hostel type option, and It’s nice to have a shower door outside in such landscape, not disturbing people in room.
I saw some guest are coming back yearly to this place.
After travelling for a long time this was perfect to relax. Serene and beautiful location. If you like loud music and bassbeats I suggest you stay elsewhere. Very clean and an amazing restaurant. The friendly staff and owner made the stay complete.
Ps: YOU MUST DO THE CANYONEERING! You won’t regret it and price at the hotel is cheaper than you find elsewhere
I liked this place very much. it is close to nature. the gym for customers is free. you can play giant chess or billiards. all for free. the owner is very kind and helps his customers to arrange what they need. it is possible to put up a tent in the garden. drinking water is included. I already miss the smiling owner and his lovely wife. there is also a place where you can have a barbecue under the roof. kitchen with fridge. is all you need dear backpacker traveler
