This hostel feels like my another home now. Been there so many times. I absolutely love the staff there - they’re so helpful, kind and overall just lovely people.
The centrally located Rock Solid Backpackers Rotorua offers free WiFi, a neighboring rock-climbing wall and a spacious guest lounge including a tour desk, a billiards table and a cinema.

Everything was such a good stay especially for it's price and last minute booking highly recommended
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Lovely clean hostel with comfy beds in the private rooms. Great location for town. Used the shared bathrooms on arrival and cleanest hostel toilets I have ever seen.
The hostel is very social and gets a cozy vibe to it, that does make it feel like home when staying a longer time! I had an amazing time meeting so many new people at the backpackers and enjoyed the time there a lot
Great location in the centre of Rotorua, super friendly staff and the hostel couldn't be cleaner! They are really cleaning all the time! Big kitchen with several microwaves, sinks, stoves, 2 big double doors fridges etc. Really enjoyed my stay here
After reading the previous reviews I was a bit worried. But I only needed a place to stay for the night. The room was warm and had what I needed the rooms are not sound proof but that was not a worry for me and at the time there were sports teams there. Next to BP garage for any necessities after hours and just down the road from a tourist cultural experience centre - just walking distance. Free parking and seem safe around the area at night.
One of the best hostels I've stayed at. Lovely layout of the rooms, comfy bunk beds with curtains. Toiletries in the spacious showers. Plenty of lounge space although I didn't have a chance to use it.
