Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Wow, that was the best hostel I've been to so far. I booked a four-bed room. Especially the kitchen and the lounge area were super comfortable, and there was a very pleasant atmosphere. In front of the hostel, you could walk directly over a huge meadow to the lake. A supermarket was located 5 minutes away. I accidentally locked myself out of the room at night, and after a quick call, the staff opened the door for me within 5 minutes. Really top-notch service.

Nice and cozy hostel. Very clean and friendly. I stayed in a common room. This is so great they have female-only room. There were 2-level beds. Each place had its own curtain for privacy, a small light inside, and a socket. Lower beds had two sections for storage underneath. There also was a separate vertical row of lockers. Nice that rooms had heaters (button on the wall).

This is essentially a youth hostel with cooking facilities and dining area on ground floor. Location wise it is quite close to reataurants, super markets, etc. Staff are nice but I guess most are inexperienced working holiday visa holders from other countries.

One of the cleanest hostels I’ve stayed in. Really nice place to stay to explore Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook. Beautiful location on the lake and in the village, a short walk to everything. The dorm rooms have bunk beds with privacy curtains and charging points with lockers to store your stuff. Great for a few nights stay.
