The location is perfect and the on-site cafe had lovely food and coffee. Staff were very friendly. The lady who had recently moved from Whangamata was partivularly warm, friendly and welcoming.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Ideally located accomodation for hikers/trampers. recommended for backpackers or to get some rest after a long trail. large kitchen, hot showers, Snooker in the games room.
Basic in the best way - had all the essentials and no frills, so it was great value. Sparkling clean and large kitchen, plenty of communal space, and we loved the secret cinema room! About 20mins drive from Whakapapa and 10mins from the national park village - all in all a great location for the price.
Thanks Brian. Wonderful location and your place has the good ole kiwi feel.
Punters, looking for GOOD, CHEAP and FAST. remember, you can only choose two ofnthose. So, if you've got a bargain price, be realistic and manage your expectations. This is a GREAT low key place to stay. It has everything you need and more.

The accommodation was nice and tidy. Great location if you want to go to the ski fields. Friendly and helpful staff. It was helpful that information was sent to us beforehand, so we knew what to expect regarding checking in, where the room was, where to park, etc.
