The best thing about staying at Stamsund Hostel are the other guests. Some of them have been coming here every year for the last 10-15 years. They're a wealth of knowledge about the town and the hostel itself. There seem to be two hosts. The place is big so sometimes it's hard to find one of the hosts; that's when the other guests come to the rescue as they always seem to know where to find the host. The hosts are very helpful. The location is nice, right on the water. You can jump right in after using the sauna! Free parking, close to a grocery store, lots of common areas inside and outside. It seems each floor has it's own kitchen as well. Hot showers and laundry facilities run on coins which can be purchased from the host.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Great location to be based out of for exploring Lofoten. Was great to have a small kitchen to make food. Bed was super comfortable and excellent shower.
