Learned this was one of the original hostels on Ometepe. Breakfasts and dinners were freshly prepared with local ingredients. Their dogs and cats were very nice to spend time with. The hosts can lease scooters and deliver them for competitive prices. Communication with host prior to and during stay was excellent.

This place is a one of a kind gem in Ometepe. The food is amazing, the location is perfect (the lake is at the end of the lane if you want a quick dip) and it’s conveniently next to both shops and restaurants. The beautiful art that is characteristic of Lazy Crab is incredible, it made the vibe of the hostel relaxing and it was offset by the fireflies that are visible from the terrace in the evening. The owner was helpful, caring and was happy to share tips for the best places to visit on the Island. I will definitely be returning.
The family is very friendly. We rented a scooter which worked very well. Kitchen was well equipped and the breakfast is good and cheap. A lot of hammocks to relax. You can walk directly to the vulcano from the hostel.
An amazing hostel, with the friendliest and most helpful staff and lovely chill vibes. Super clean and comfortable, this is definitely the best hostel on Ometepe Island and I would recommend it to everyone :) They have a well-equipped kitchen to cook in and a tasty menu - try the salad bowl and the crepes they are soooo tasty! There is a cosy hammock chill out space too.
We stayed in total 5 nights with this lovely family. When you book the place , it looks like a hostel but you stay on the same property like the family that owns it. They are all so kind and help you with any questions. Fernando is really good in talking English, so even if your Spanish is not that good, they can help you :) The breakfast is cheap and delicious (I recommend the local breakfast), but they also do pancakes. Nearby you can find restaurants for lunch and dinner in walking distance.

Very nice hostel in a great location. The kitchen has everything you need and gets cleaned daily. The upstairs hangout area is comfortable and spacious. I used it for my yoga practice and just put two hammocks down to have a bit more space.
The owners are very friendly and answer any question you might have.
Lazy Crab home from home! Love the vibe here and how it’s just a little family. Lovely big open plan hostel with loads of chilling areas. Cooked breakfast is very good and very cheap. Ryder is such a friendly lovely owner and will always help you with whatever question you have :)
