Learned this was one of the original hostels on Ometepe. Breakfasts and dinners were freshly prepared with local ingredients. Their dogs and cats were very nice to spend time with. The hosts can lease scooters and deliver them for competitive prices. Communication with host prior to and during stay was excellent.

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

Super nice staff that will do everything they can to please you.
Great simple breakfast. Great location on a quiet beach with a few good restaurants in a walking distance on the beach.
Water is warm and safe for young kids.
The room was very clean and quite cheap.
The staff Hostal Rancho was super nice. We felt really welcomed and home there.
Also the small town of Altagracia was a very nice surprise! It is very cute and idyllic.
We had a very nice stay! The town is not so popular with tourists, so if you want to be with the locals this is the best place to be. They will arange a scooter for you. It is a good base to explore the Ometepe Island.. Totally safe and the owners are super nice. Delicious breakfast! 🌋🥰 Thank you!
Really nice family hostel the place is simple but very comfortable, in the middle of a banana plantation. Efraim the oner is very generous and a really good host. Very nice experience.
Tatiana was friendly and helpful and the hostel had beautiful views of both volcanoes. We were able to rent a moped from the hostel and were recommended some good places to eat, plus a tour guide for the volcano hike. The hostel is located away from the road so it is nice and quiet, but you would need to arrange transport (either taxi or tuk tuk) from the ferry port as it's about a 30 min drive away.
Lizz was SO nice and so so helpful. she helped us organise ATVs and scooters, gave us helpful tips and maps of the island. the day we left she made sure we got on the public bus ok. Lizz’ mama was amazing too and cooked all our meals , they were absolutely delicious and everyone ate together which made it feel like a home away from home.
we stayed here because of the reviews and we’d recommend it to anyone! Beautiful local family who are very kind and working very hard to run a amazing hostel. THANK YOU for having us :)
the Staff are just incredibly nice, they make you feel very welcomed and at home, they are very proud of the views they have to the volcano in the hostel, and they should be because it is amazing! the room is good for the price but nothing luxurious. It is comfortable, safe and in a very good location!
