Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
All the staff was very friendly, smiling, attentive and always willing to help. When I checked in after my flight they managed to check me in as soon possible in order to get some rest.
The fact that I had a key to enter and exit the hostel made me feel safe. The bar and pool area is lovely.
It's so easy to get to know new people and make friends there. I felt very welcome and safe. Also they organise free walking tours to get to know the city:)
A great place to feel like you are on safari from the first day! Your smile is returned by the lovely team of Merriam and Ndasha who go at length to meet your needs. Great location for when you have an event at the Mövenpick but don't want your standard western hotel room. Safe walk from African Kwela to Mövenpick, even in the early evening. Also great if you are leaving/arriving from Eros airport which is also a very short distance away. Taste breakfast, cozy entourage
The set up/concept of the place is great and eco friendly, great location in the city, they have accommodation for each budget range, the vibe which was pretty chill and hip, the food was delicious, Wi-Fi provision, safety, super comfortable beds and clean washrooms and toilets.
Special shout out to Nashu for her warm hospitality
Chameleon Backpackers & Guesthouse is a great hostel for those looking to stay close to Windhoek's city centre. The room was spacious and comfortable for my friend and I. The common area, pool, and kitchen was clean and inviting. Staff were friendly and helpful. The airport shuttle arrived on time and brought us safety to the hotel.
