Downtown Hostels in Mirissa is a very nice new hostel. It's still developing and the very dedicated staff give it everything to improve the hostel steadily.
We loved the clean rooms, the chilling area with bean bags, games, TV, tea/coffee and a water dispenser.
Breakfast can be pre-ordered the evening before and it was delicious. We asked and were allowed to use the kitchen and fridge for our own food as well. The laundry service was exceptional and for a good price as well.
Even if it's not in the center of Mirissa it's only a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Just keep in mind that the hostel is on the main road. So there could be some noise from the traffic.
We had a fantastic stay at the hotel. Thanks to the very helpful and friendly staff! We would definitely stay here again. :)

The rooms are very nice and clean. First time I had wall-art in Sri Lanka. The owner and staff are super friendly and reliable and there's an Indian restaurant upstairs which is also very recommended. Ask Dominic for anything... scooter, tours, etc.. He'll arrange in no time. Will come again.

This was a great social hostel in Madiha! It is definitely the place to stay along the coast and the social hosts do a great job of connecting different travellers and creating a good social vibe. The hostel has great facilities and it is noce relaxing by the pool.

Very clean and modern hostel. Offers a big common area with a nice pool and ping pong table. Beds are comfortable and offer privacy.
Breakfast consists of different fruits with oats, eggs or hoppers and is a welcomed variation to dhal curry.
Service was good (information and scooter rental) but probably due to low occupancy at our time the reception time was limited.
Super nice new Hostel, so everything super clean and comfortable right now. Spacious dorm, private bed. Breakfast was amazing (porridge+fruit and also bread+veggies, could have both). I was alone due to the new opening, but looked like a nice place to hang out with people, great pool, table tennis, chill out areas. Also appreciated the possibility to do yoga and the intent to be more sustainable (separate waste and water dispenser, equally shared tips for the whole staff). Saw some turtle on the next closest beach.
