The hostel is currently undergoing renovations, so most of it is closed off, meaning you won’t find any people there—we were the only guests during our stay. The facilities are really lacking; the rooms and bathrooms are old and outdated and the showers in the shared bathrooms weren’t working.
The hostel wasn’t very clean, and there were a lot of bugs (mosquitoes and ants).
The only positive aspects were the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the location, which is close to the beach.

We had a great couple of nights here. It’s very cheap, so doesn’t have many extras but it’s clean and in a great location only a few minutes from the beach. The owner was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic.
Great location across the street from the beach, lots of shops and restaurants at your doorstep. Doesn’t offer breakfast but a really nice locally run restaurant just at the gates which we went to every morning, delicious food and friendly staff.

Highly recommend this hostel,it was the best hostel I had stayed in Sri Lanka.The pricing maybe a bit higher for hostel but the facilities speak for it.Kitchen is also open.Everything you need to explore, restaurants, groceries are walkable.Also host gives you a map on check in which has all the details you need to make your stay comfortable.The ac dorms were very comfortable n had 2 shower rooms also. It was clean n there were cute cats at the hostel.You can checkout n keep your luggage in locker room n explore too..
We moved here from another property within Mirissa that wasn’t what it was advertised - the owner was able to accommodate us at short notice, great location walking distance to all of the main cafes/restaurants, near to our favourite (Junction Cafe and Gedara Curry). Really clean, excellent air con and quiet at night (road fairly busy until 7-8pm but not much after this)
We booked into the budget double room which didn’t have a fridge, but staff were more than happy to let us use fridge over the road in the kitchen
Great location in Mirissa, such a friendly family-run hostel. Room had air conditioning and was really clean and nice. Even got a welcome drink on arrival and could leave our bags early. Best value for money place we stayed in Sri Lanka.
