Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
This was an amazing stay with our family (2adults, 3 kids of 6, 8 and 11) in our room in the middle of the jungle, with a view on the waterfall where you could also swim in. A 10/10. Janith, Maneesha and team were such friendly and helpfull hosts. The true Srilanka food and drinks was prepared with much care and was delicious. (And for our Dutch stomachs safe to eat :) ) And the rainforest hike was super, with Janith being such a good guide, spotting snakes, lizards, monkeys, spiders etc. 100% recommended!
Great location for visiting the Sinharaja rainforest. Tour guide is arranged by the hosts. Great guide who can make gorgeous pictures and has a sharp eye for animal spotting. Beautiful swimming pool with fireflies. Definitely go swimming in the dark (in your phone light). Cute dogs. Good food by the mother for a fair price. Use a tuk tuk rather than taxi from Deniyaya, because the road is not suitable for a car. The host was kind enough to offer us a tuk tuk ride to our taxi driver. There are mosquito nets around the bed, use them!
A very nice place in the middle of nowhere. You get to see and hear so much nature it's absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend this place.
They also organise tours into the forest for every budget as I was a bit short on the asking price and they made it a bit shorter but I was still able to see some great wildlife and had a good time.
Great location near to most of the attractions. Mr. Sarath is exceptionally good and provided all the services and he helped with getting a motor bike for us. Food is lovely. Value for money is excellent.
Great location, and very friendly staf the hotel is next to the sinharaja rain Forest. If you stay there you have to go to go with a guide from this hotel. We contacted someone else but apparently they can not take the job we had to book via the hotel. It cost 30 USD per person. This is expensive if you know the ticket price of the forrest… Food is ok.
This place is in a great location right on the edge of the park, however, the owner/manager of this place, along with the cleanliness of the bedding and the construction of the budget accommodation, really lets it down.
