A small hostel run by a wonderful, helpful host who is happy to chat and give recommendations and sightseeing information. The location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk from train station and very close to some famous gyoza, too. Great WI-FI. I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Utsunomiya.
There were only 2 of us in the entire hostel. Facilities were okay. Toaster and microwave could use a bit of maintenance and cleaning tho. Cold and hot water dispenser. Free tea, coffee, sugars, etc. Paper cups, chopsticks and single use utensils are available. The remote controlled light in the bed was nice. Bed was comfy. The complimentary cookies were nice and yummy.
This guesthouse is with no doubt the best one where I stayed during my trip in Japan ! It’s a traditional Japanese house. The dormitory is very clean and beds are so comfortable!
The owner, Kageyama-san is the kindest person I’ve met! I felt like a friend. We spent an all evening around a drink !
