Amazing place to stay!!
Koji san is the most welcoming host there is, very friendly, he gave us recommendations for where to eat drink and what to see in Kii Tanabe and also tips for our way to the Kumano kodo trail.
In his house we felt right at home ! It's a really comfy place where we got the chance to sleep on futons which we love although for those who don't like it he also have a room with bunk beds. We slept like babies it was great!!
Everything was perfectly clean, the toilets and the bathroom as well as the kitchen. Every room is lovely, well decorated and peaceful. He also have a beautiful garden with lovely animals to see passing by !
If you are staying in Tanabe I will definitely recommend this place ! Thanks again so much Koji san.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Great Location close to the beach. Onsen was good. Place was clean. They provided breakfast which was a nice bonus. We rented the 2 bedroom Apartment which felt relatively large.
Fabulous guesthouse at the end of the Shirahama bus route. The guesthouse offers either private rooms or a dormitory. There is a large communal area, kitchen, food "shop", bathrooms and toilets on the first floor. The kitchen is well equipped for full meal preparation. On the second floor there is another communal area, toilet and private rooms.
The owners are super friendly, helpful and speak English.
The local bus to Shirahama station and highway bus to Osaka stop right outside.
Very friendly, small ryokan , great location just above Ginza street and easy walk to the beach. Traditional hotel, not renovated (maybe better that way?) but well maintained and clean. Way better than staying in a big concrete/eyesore hotel.
