This place is really amazing
Very beautiful, with a view to mount Yotei, tatami mattress in the rooms, a comfortable bed, and comfortable shared space which includes a kitchen with everything you'll need and even a cultural tatami salon. very clean too!
The place is really close to the train and bus station (a nice short walk), which makes it easy if you don't have a car.
Also, the nighboring house is a sake distillery!
I stayed in the shared room and it was great 😁
But non of the above compares to the amazing hospitality of the owner, Rio, who actually does everything for the best of his guests!!!
You are an amazing person and your treatment made my staying superb!
Thank you very very much

This was very(!) comfortable accommodation! My room was beautiful and clean, and you get your room to yourself. The aircon was great in summer. Kitchen facilities and common areas were great and also very clean. It is located in the cute town of Kutchan, and it easy to walk around the town.
Situated in Kimobetsu, 38 km from Lake Toya, Rusutsu Grand Cabin features accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking and a restaurant. This 3-star hostel offers free WiFi.

The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. The room itself was very clean, and the bed was really comfy. Even tho the room was not big, there was enough space to spread 2 suitcases.
Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Owashi Lodge is located just a 100 metres from Niseko Mt. Resort Grand Hirafu. Free private parking is available on site.

The room was exactly as pictured. We stayed for 11 days. We probably ate the breakfast every second day, and alternated between visiting a cafe - Green Farm Cafe is a must for coffee and their sandwiches are incredible. The hostel breakfast was sufficient to fuel us up for a full day of snowboarding, and it was great that breakfast was included. The location is the best thing about this place - you can't get much closer to the lifts. Of course this means you have to walk a little way to get to restaurants in Lower Hirafu, but in my opinion this is better as you're not lugging all your ski gear around with you to dinner. Once we arrived the staff were incredibly helpful and accomodating, but prior to our arrival when I'd used the chat function for advice on the best way to get to Niseko I was told to Google it, which I did not find overly helpful. The mattress was comfortable and there's a heater in each room so you've got temperature control.
My partner and I stayed in a private room which has a double bed with a single bunk on top of us. This was good for extra storage - we put our clothes up there.
Surrounded by nature, Boken Kazoku is a traditional 90-year-old building with a terrace and a playground with mountain views.

Lovely JP stylish accommodation. The basic kitchenwares and induction cooker are provided. No heater in the communal areas so it's a bit cold but there is one in the living room to warm up. 5mins bus to the supermarker. The owners are very helpful guys who kindly picked me up and sent me back to the welcome centre when leaving. They do clean their house every morning as I can see. Highly recommended and value for money!

Smart Hotel Kutchan was - in my experience - a superb hotel for solo travelers in the summer. The system for using the hotel and etiquette was well-explained. The system for accessing the building outside of front-desk reception staff hours was made clear. There was reasonable privacy in the capsule itself. I made use of the facilities including showers and bathroom which were clean and provided amenities. The location of the hotel is excellent, being only a very short walk away from Kutchan station and nearby shops and restaurants.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, amazing cleaning staff. Great buffet breakfast, though pretty much identical every day. Great location next to Max Value (supermarket) and Daiso. Appreciated the in-room humidifier. Wonderful shuttle to and from the mountain. This is one of the few remaining affordable accommodation options in Niseko. Having first come in 2005, every trip I end up staying further and further out. However, as Niseko has westernised over the years, I much prefer the charm and real Japaneseness of Kutchan.
The premises is a hostel that caters for skiers during Winter. We had the tatami beds in a private room and if we can cope aged 57 and 60 anybody can!
It was the cheapest we could find but we enjoyed, aside from the cold showers, but it was cheap in comparison 😀
Great location if you want to travel to more than just niseko as long as you have a car.
Super clean and central in Kutchan for all the restaurants and night life.
Be prepared that the rooms are very tight, especially with snowboard bags and luggage but as long as you set it up so that everything goes back in its place it’s a great little room.
We’ll be back next time we’re in Hokkaido!
I guess I didn’t read the description but it’s a really cool property, it’s an old school turned into a hostel. The owners were extremely nice and communicated everything well. There a bus stop for both directions at the entrance making it very accessible to either town. When I got hurt and had to go to the hospital the grandma at the property who used to be a nurse helped re bandage my ankle after the hospital didn’t do a good job and everyone checked on me every day. It was really sweet.
The location and the staff were absolutely superb. I would absolutely stay there again if I return to Niseko. Very welcoming and warm family who run the place which felt more like a hotel than a hostel. Excellent value for money.
The house is beautiful and cosy feeling and Ryo keeps the whole place super clean and well maintained. The beds were comfy and rooms were well heated. Kitchen was sufficiently equipped with all you need.
The location was good, near to the JR Kutchan station, a supermarket and a 7-11. Ryo also provides daily morning shuttle to Hirafu, which is highly appreciated.
Most remarkably Ryo is a friendly and helpful host, and a wonderful cook too :)
This is one of the best hostel we have stayed in!
