Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
I loved the private open air baths and the room with the sea view. Great location as well. Close to the train station and restaurants. Lots of space for luggage.
It’s a Ryokan hostel with a resting places at ground floor. Friendly staff explained well about the place. Onsen is a plus. Room is nice, with direct river view from the balcony. Close walk from Ito station.
1.The room is big and the location for the hotel is in the mountain, we could see the pudding mountain through our balcony.
2.spring is great, you could use the bath privately on your own
3. Most importantly, I met friend here! This is the greatest part for youth hostel. Not sure if you are going to see the comment, but thank you Will for your company, sad that we don’t exchange the contact info :(, but I guess this is how travel works lol.
You can’t get a cheap shared hostel like this anywhere else in Japan. Located in a rejuvenated Ryokan built a hundred years ago, you’ll get to enjoy the old good Japanese style accommodation soaked in the beautiful wood scent with the minimum cost. Plus there is personal furo that you can use for free, if you don’t like the Japanese shared bath.
One of the best hostel we ever stayed all around the world. Super clean. Nice kitchen. Nice Dorm. Very friendly and helpful workers. Amazing Onsen. Beautiful chilling area. We have to come back. Thanks for everything Franz and Lisa
My 5th time staying at this hostel, which is honestly more of a guesthouse. If you want a budget friendly Onsen experience not too far off the major tourist trail this is the spot. Staff are awesome as always
Awesome place for backpackers! Staying at a real Japanese style Ryokan usually is extremely expensive. This Ryokan provides a truly authentic traditional experience at an unbeatable price. Including Onsen, river view, great location, great staff speaking perfect English, a kitchen and a beautiful common area to meet nice people.
