The Hostel:
I stayed in the 4-bed mixed dorm. It was spacious, clean and functional. Each bunk is equipped with a privacy curtain, charging station and light. A large locker is available in the room for your valuables (lock not included). There is space in the room for oversized luggage as well. WiFi network, shower and water pressure all worked well. Common areas are comfortable with plenty of seating and the kitchen is well equipped.
The Stay:
The bed was large and quite comfortable. The Yard Hostel is situated on a safe street with gated access to the building. Conveniently located and a short distance to most attractions. Overall vibes were laid back and welcoming.
The Service:
The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. They were always available to answer questions and offer recommendations.

I booked this hotel for my colleague. At midnight, someone tried to enter her room, which left her very frightened. The receptionist mentioned that the intruder was very drunk but claimed he didn't see the person as he was away from his desk. This incident raises concerns about security, as it seems anyone could walk into the hotel. Feeling unsafe, she decided to find another hotel to stay in for the night.

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
One of the best hostels where I've ever stayed. 3 very clean and fully equipped bathrooms. The Volunteers were kind and always ready to help. You can find there huge balcony for everyone where you can chill. Fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook sth. In my room there were just standard beds (no bunk beds). And finally the hostel is located in the city centre. 50m away there was a market with fresh fruits, vegatables and many other things.
Very clean hostel with stylish decor. Great location, not too far from the centro storico or the bus terminal. Because the hostel is tucked away in a yard, it's not too noisy despite being close to the main street (I didn't find the bar downstairs too loud). The beds are comfy & quite wide for bunk beds. Staff is usually very friendly & helpful. One complimentary coffee in the morning is included.
Great location and safe. Next to an excellent market so you can buy all fresh food very cheap. Close to the centre and main attractions. Very good contact with very friendly and helpful owner. Apartment cosy and safe
One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in! The staff was so friendly and welcoming! We felt at home, safe and happy during our whole stay! The hostel is so lovely designed with so many cute details that we where really sad to leave this place at the end of our vacation :/ I recommend this hostel for everyone who is coming to beautiful Catania and is searching for an affordable, lively, comfortable and central place to stay :) And the free Pasta is on top of that all an delicious highlight! I loved this hostel!
This is a modern apartement with a great location. We got advise on a carpark nearby, which was cheap and easy to get to. Just outside the front door, you will find the Duomo, fish market and lovely sights. Despite being right next to a busy square, the sound proofing on the windows were very good.
Ostello degli Elefanti is by far the BEST hostel I've ever stayed in! The atmosphere is great, the staff is super friendly and welcoming and the location is perfect. The hostel has a few very nice common rooms with tables to eat, work or just meet new people during the free pasta night, which they have every day! And don't get me started on the beautiful rooftop terrace... from where you have the best view over Catania and the Etna volcano. I can't wait to come back once again, highly recommended!
Probably one of the best hostel I ever stayed at. Great location in the heart of the city. It is perfectly thought and organised for travellers.
There is a lot of generosity from the hostel: breakfast included, free pasta every night... and the staff members.
Lots of featurings: table tennis, books, games, guitars .. + an awesome rooftop with a bar.
The dorms are clean and beds are comfortable.
I wish I stayed longer!
Perfect option for budget traveling. Hostel is close to the fish market where you can find dozens of local cafes cheap but delicious. Main square Piazza del Duomo is just within 5 mins walk. Salvo the manager will guide you with all information you need to travel around. He also has an exceptional Sicilia Guide for travelers!! Ask him
Definitely the cleanest hostel in Sicily, very good location, nice and open staff, nice people that I met at the hostel, good capucino in the morning, big and comfortable beds, cheap compared with other parts of Sicily, a place where you can feel safe.
I think this was the best hostel in which I've been so far! Besides the included breakfast, the staff prepares also (every night!) dinner (pasta) for everyone for free! It's a perfect place to meet new people, the common area is super nice, with balconies for one of the main streets and two of the main squares - a beautiful view, with people playing instruments and singing outside also. Another amazing thing are the ceilings of the rooms, with beautiful frescoes from the early 20th century. Finally, the staff is very very nice :)
