About how to get there, I recommend:
From Napoli Stazione Centrale, take the Trenitalia state railway and stop in Torre Del Greco.
Because this route is more straightforward, easier to find the way/direction. This route is more flat.
There's nother way, but I don't recommend:
From the station of Napoli (Garibaldi) take the Circumvesuviana(EAV) choosing the line Napoli-Sorrento and stop in Ercolano-Miglio D’Oro (only during summer) or Torre Del Greco’s stop.
Because this route is basically walking up/down hill. and roads are smaller, not easy to find direction.
And also to buy the tickets to Circumvesuviana(EAV) (only from tickets office by human) and find the platform is a torture.

Loved my stay here as a solo traveler in my 20s, the staff and people I met were all lovely, it wasn’t too crowded or busy, the location and vibe was great! A really unique beautiful hostel in the old town of Salerno, easy to get around and find great places to eat and less than 10 mins to walk to the port / beach. Salerno is a great place, cheap to fly into compared to the rest of amalfi and easy to get to amalfi and visit other parts of the coast from the station and port!

Really nice hotel! Great location by the sea and the roof top terrace and pool is amazing! Lovely breakfast in the panoramic restaurant. I had a lovely room. The bed was comfy, the air con worked well, the shower worked great and it was really clean. The free wifi is really good. Staff were very helpful.
The host, Francesco, was awesome. Very helpful and the room was very spacious & clean. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe. Facilities are great, the location was fabulous, and it was easy to get to Sorrento, posatino, Capri by ferry. CASTELLAMMARE is a great location and Francesco will make your stay even better. Perfect to visit the Amalficoast (by boat) and Pompei, Herculaneum (by train) without the need of a car.
The host helped us carrying our bags to the third floor (no elevator, great workout 😉).
If you are on a budget, this is the place to stay to visit the rather expensive Amalficoast.
We will definitely stay here again if we ever visit this region again.
Made a last minute booking. Greeted by wonderful hostess who noticed we had lots of luggage and quickly put us in a main floor room with a balcony and view that is hard to describe. The hostess called a restaurant 50 metres away to make sure they were going to open and then walked us down to make sure we could find it behind some gates. We tried to stay another night but were fully booked! Great location and great staff and great breakfast. Parking gates close at night car is safe.
Spacious & modern aparment in a great location, just a few steps from the beautiful sandy beach ! The host was very helpfull. Apartment was close to grocery store, bakery and reataurants. Also very safe because between 2 police stations :)
