Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Great location, and beautiful building for getting g ready for my wedding in. The staff were absolutely fantastic to us and all our guests who were also staying there
Villa Gherardi is a beautiful historic villa in a central location which is run as a hostel by Adele who was an excellent and very friendly host. Breakfast was very good and the standard of accommodation was generally very high. It was an excellent base to explore Barga and the region.
We loved this villa from early 1900s with its remarkable Art Nouveau decor and furnishings, large rooms, including a terrace for the buffet breakfast, a lovely garden setting a short walk from central Barga, safe parking, and a great welcome from the staff, notably Nadia and Beatrice. When we left something important behind Beatrice organized a courier to send it to us at our next location, for which we were very grateful. It would be a pleasure to stay again.
nice and quiet area amazing host 10/10 for everything i enjoyed my evening walks to town wee tip bring a torch and possible high vest with you as there no street lights but still very safe .But u want drivers to see u
The hostel was right next to the historic centre of the town and our room had an amazing view overlooking it and the surrounding mountains.
The bed was very comfy, especially the pillows.
Our host was very friendly and we had a lovely breakfast overlooking the mountains in the distance.
I would highly recommend Villa Gherardi.
The location is fantastic and is akin to being situated in the LOTR movie set. The old town is beautiful and the mountains are gorgeous. Great location for exploring but you do need a car, however there is parking just outside the house. The host is extremely helpful and friendly.
Hostel by name, really mor like a cheap hotel, with the added bonus of inviting common areas inside and outdoors. The hostess was brilliant, the breakfast was delicious.
