Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Isabella hostel is a good and economical place for backpackers, Host Hubert is professional and friendly.
I will recommend Isabella hostel if you are travelling solo to shillong.
The property is premium and has every facility needed. I celebrated Diwali over here with a couple of friends I made in this hostel. I had some great conversations and memories. When you’re a female solo traveller the quality of stay you choose really matters. I was the only female in this mixed dorm of 6 and I’ve never felt safer!!
The owner and staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The place was also very clean, genuinely one of the best hostels I've stayed in during my India trip.
Also a proper hot shower 😁
Excellent staff, great location, wonderful and ample outdoor space (a park + outdoor fire place), ample parking, felt safe and a wonderful cafeteria serving good food and coffee.
