First off, if you are coming for Matajis Darshan, then this is a unique place for you and your family or friends. If your coming for leisure or sightseeing it's unique too, but this place has a vibe. You can see the Nilachal parbat, you can see a lot birds right outside your window, so much peace, so much tranquillity, as if Maa has blessed this place and the owners immensely! I felt it. The owners and caretakers are absolutely beautiful souls, I pray they prosper even more! I feel empty as soon as I checked out, I was here for 3-4 days and was treated like my own. Even the shopkeepers around are polite, peaceful and loving. Kindness is their asset. The full moon outside the window 🪟 was my best moment here. I take these memories till my grave and beyond! Gibbon is decent place for people who want to stay a night or two. You can meet new people here. I liked the location and I liked the overall hospitality. We had a safe stay there. The gyser worked good.
Location was good, a 10 minute walk from Paltan Bazar. The price was very cheap which suited a backpacker trying to manage on a shoe string budget. I stay in a single bed room with a shared bathroom which doesn't bother me in the slightest. I would highly recommend Namaskar Homestay who is travelling to Guwahati.
Brilliant staff and great location and the price can't be beaten anywhere else in the neighborhood.....Kamakhya temple 5-7 km but the local bus runs all the time which is easier and cheaper way to travel there....
Stayed at Mezenga Backpackers for a day during my Guwahati trip. Opted for a mixed dorm and was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and safety it offered. The staff was genuinely hospitable. While the bathrooms weren't top-tier, they were functional and served the purpose. Overall, a satisfactory stay for solo travelers. 👍
Having stayed at the 'other' budget hostel in guwahati, I can now say that for me Gibbon is the better of the two currently listed on booking.com Gibbon has WAY better vibe and layout and while it is basic and could be cleaner, you get what you pay for. I meant to stay one day and ended up here one week. It's close to shops well lit at night. There's a ping-pong table but no means to play it.....
It's really Most beautiful and pretty premium hostel in Guwahati and very budget friendly 😉 Near to beltola bazaar. I really like the common area thank you mezenga 👍
