Oh you should definitely go here. It wasn't even peak season but I met with such exceptional people. The host, the volunteers, the staff and the guests. Everyone was soo helpful and accomodating. I remember it was raining heavily at night and the electricity was gone, so akka made us piping hot masala dosas. I stayed here for less than five days but I felt like I knew these guys for ages. I made so many friends. I'm soo glad I decided to stay here. And also not to forget my furry friend. Their cat, chai, is soo friendly, he'll cuddle up to you in no time. At first both me and my friend were so sceptical about living in a dormitory away from the city center(considering how both of us were women, we were worried about our safety). But it truly made us sad to leave on our fifth day. We didn't want to leave. Especially such fantastic people. I don't usually write reviews, but I really hope everyone gets to experience what we did. If we go back to auroville again, we'll be booking this hostel for sure.

Quite close to Auroville visitor center entrance. the lobby space has Foosball, few board games and projector screen with seating which is quite eye catching. Rooms are quite avergae . Cupboard is spacious with locks provided. Bathroom is spacious and clean. Has open terrace area with common washrooms to freshen up if you arrive before checkin. Food is available for order through in-house app and kitchen.

Such a well designed and thoughtout place. Lovely little touches throughout and attracts a chill crowd of young travellers. Food on property was nice and reasonable. The pool is such a nice touch. The rooms were very comfy. Staff are SUPER friendly. Highly recommend

Great room, great mood. I never felt at home like at Time Travellers hostel, thanks to the staff, the volunteers and the many backpackers staying here. The bonfire is a must every night! Ah, it's right in front of Auroville's main gate.
I loved my stay at Funk Monk Hostel! I felt so comfortable day in, day out. Everything is so neat & clean like I haven’t experienced it before in whole India. The location is situated in a very calm environment just 5 min away from the visitor center by bicycle which made us sleep so well. Apart from that, the owner Krishna is a very helpful guy and has many tips to offer about what to do in Auroville. The food in the hostel is tasty and cheap. Would definitely come back, if was here another time! :)
One of the best hostels to ever exist. The vibe of the place is just so vibrant and calming at the same time. Perfect place to relax and meet interesting people. Host and staff are just amazing, super friendly and so helpful. The rooftop cafe-Gaia's cafeis like the cherry on the cake. The cool host of the cafe is "Dosa" the cat 🐱 who ll keep you entertained. 11/10 highly recommended.
Wonderful hostel with a large and cozy rooftop where you can play with their cat, do yoga, meet new friends, work online or appreciate both sunrise and sunset. 🌅
The place is surrounded by beautiful nature and you can also enjoy the peaceful mango tree garden.
Delicious dishes are made with love by the friendly, local staff.
Dormitory is confortable enough and clean.
