The location was hard to find but once you did (via taxi, initially), it was super easy to navigate your way into the downtown and heart of Split! I loved that it was off the beaten path. You had your own private locker and a couple of shared bathrooms which I never had a problem with waiting. The staff were SUPER FRIENDLY and offered to let you keep your bags in entry until room was ready. They also had breakfast which was a huge plus!
Rooms Kampus are located in Split, just 1.2 mi from the UNESCO-protected Diocletian's Palace and a 10-minute walk from Žnjan beach.

The staff were always kind (both in person and over chat), the room was spacious, and we were happy to have a mini fridge in the room. Overall it's a decent option for a one night stay.
If you're looking for parking - park on the hill rather than on the lower ground to access the entrance (don't follow google maps).

Considering a stay at this hostel? Only if you’re in the mood for a front-row seat to a complete meltdown. The owner, is a certifiable nutcase who belongs in a padded room, not running a hostel. She leaves unhinged notes in your room like some kind of demented stalker, then pretends they’re not from her. And don’t expect to address any issues face-to-face—she’s too spineless to deal with people directly. Don't take my word for it—just skim through the reviews to see her bizarre responses.”

Staff where very unprofessional and unfriendly , taking badly about other guests… there was many passive aggressive notes around the building and one left in our room after we used a spoon to eat some yogurt in the kitchen then took it back to the room! It is advertised you can use the kitchen however this was not allowed. Also advertised there was a fitness centre which was non existent. The lady would come into the room and open the curtains early morning in her words “to get everyone ready for the day”!!! She would also insist in leaving the door wide open to our dorm which imposed on all of our privacy. The aircon would be turned on and off multiple times a day and then they wonder why so many people in this hostel get sick! One shower was freezing cold the other would be boiling hot and as instructed we did not touch the temperature.

The best family-hostel kind of vibe :) the owner was amazing and made my friend and I feel right at home. The hostel was small and everyone was so friendly. There were hostel activities and many card/board games to play, communal travel journals, social hours, a great kitchen, enough bathrooms, and the PERFECT location.

Great location. Late checkin possible. Lockers and bedside plugin available. Spacious even in the 10-bedroom dorm. Staff guy was nice. A typical cheap student hostel I suppose.
The spot was very safe and clean. We enjoyed a lot to meet new people in a good place like Hostel Elli. I really recommend it to everyone looking for a quiet and safe place to stay in Split.

The place is very cozy, great location, safe. It has breakfast and some free amenities available 24/7. It's very clean. Amazing experience! One of the best hostels I've ever stayed.
The people were very pleasant. Mostly backpackers. There is a central spot by the front entrance to hang out or meet people. I stayed in a 18-bed female-only and felt safe the whole time. Curtains are great for privacy.
Great location, comfortable room but what really made my stay was Inchy and her son. They went above and beyond what I would have expected in providing local information and a safe, cheap early taxi on my departure. A home from home. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in split.....thank you for your kindness 💓
Best hostel I stayed, it’s just a little walk to Split Center, the shop is really close to the hostel and because it’s not in center the prices are little cheaper in shops! Also just little walk to the beaches!
The best hostel in all of Europe! The staff are all amazing, the cleaners keep it so nice, the reception team are very friendly and will help with anything and the night security make sure you are safe and also have fun! Can’t wait to return !

Really great location and good price. It's a social hostel, which can be good or bad depending on your preferences, but expect people coming back from partying at evening/night, Split is a social and party city and you are in a youth hostel.
They organize evening activities, I didn't had the chance to participate in any but it seems fun, pubcrawl, drinking games, etc, a great way to socialize and meet new people while traveling solo.
