Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Great location, within walking distance of the centre. Free parking is available behind a secure gate for smaller vehicles. The area feels very safe. Great sized apartment, and it has pretty much everything you need. All of the linen smells lovely and fresh!
Great staff who are willing to help. You only buy a towel for yourself and it's nice. Very convenient location in the centre but away from the bars. Reception 24/7 and you can buy earplugs. For the cheapest hostel I've seen, it's great.
Great location, tucked away but very close to the city. Found a cheap parking spot close by at just under £25 for 2 days, a bargain. Studio was lovely, well equipped kitchen with table and chairs, bathroom/wet room nice and clean. Comfortable bedroom with a couple of easy chairs. No wardrobe but we coped & never travel light.
Would definitely look to stay again, great price too for York 😊
The apartment was in a great location, close to the railway station and within walking distance of all the tourist sites that I wanted too visit. It was safe and secure, perfect for someone travelling on their own.
Great location with everything in walking distance. Sound proofing was great in rooms could not hear traffic, other guests or building work which was happening next door so had a peaceful nights sleep which is needed after a day exploring York. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Great location, clean, very helpful staff (returned something I'd left in the safe to me), included bathroom amenities (shower cap, shampoo & conditioner), nice view over the river, water available for guests in the lobby.
One the best hostels I’ve been so far, and I travel quite often. The familiar atmosphere, the coziness of the living room where they played EuroCup matches. The staff is friendly and you’ll have them cooking with you in the kitchen or just chilling in the common areas. I’ve worked for a couple of days, great Wi-Fi and even if you leave your stuff unattended, nobody touches it.
Great location, nice friendly welcome.
For the price in terms of other establishments in centrtral York, it was value for money.
Rooms and facilities are dated but were as expected when booking.
Basic but clean with kettle in room and lots of coffee and tea available.
If on a budget and you understand this is a budget establishment, it's perfect.
Cheap and cheerful.
Very family-like, beyond friendly staff. Alot of the customers are residential which gives it a homely like aura. Everyone looks out for eachother. As far as hostels go, this is by far the best and safest. Great value for money, perfect for cheap reliable business trips.
