I recently stayed at the Whitehorse and had a wonderful experience. The food was exceptional, and the overall cleanliness of the place was impressive. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the stay even more pleasant. It’s a great spot to stop for the night and I highly recommend it.

An extremely hardworking staff that was always busy addressing guest needs and facility operations. Lovely location which served as an excellent base for hiking in the Lake District. Small size of the facility made it feel uncrowded even though all rooms were occupied during our stay.

Beautiful location on the lake. Cosy bar with an incredible view. Good hostel. Friendly and helpful staff.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Beautifully restored Inn. Loved the attention to detail. We had an excellent dinner at the restaurant and the breakfast was great as well. We also enjoyed the opportunity to have couple of pints of Guinness in the beer garden after a long day of hiking.
The room was very clean considering this is a pet friendly hotel. The cafe was convenient, good for drinks after a long hike. The Guinness cake was amazing !
Staff were lovely and very helpful, especially Anna. Great location, although you need a vehicle to access the nearby towns.
Great location between Keswick and Windermere. There’s plenty of parking and the staff member I met was welcoming, friendly and helpful. I only stayed one night on a work trip, the lodge provided a warm and comfortable stopover. I didn’t book breakfast as I’m happy with a cup of tea first thing.
Best thing was the big lovely white towels! My room was cheap and only had a velux window so no view unless you stood on the bed.
