Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
My 3rd stay at The Pendennis so I must like it here! The ownership has changed since my last visit several years ago but the experience was as good as ever. Great location in a quiet street, and a comfy, cosy and homely house. The room was immaculate and the breakfasts were absolutely superb. Richard and Sarah are great hosts, very friendly and helpful. If the previous owners Russell and Hazel read this, fear not, The Pendennis is in VERY safe hands. I will be back!
Room is quite decent overall for a short stay. Nice view over a tennis court and with the sea in the background. The kitchen looks nice but haven't used it (if I'm in the budget of paying almost 200 quid a night for a room, I don't want to do the washing and the cooking, I might just want to go to a restaurant, maybe that shared kitchen concept fits well in a 20 quid a night hostel).
The room was very comfortable and well equipped, Tony and Jerry were lovely and welcoming (as an LGBT couple it was a pleasant surprise to know our hosts were too). The accommodation felt very safe and was lovely and clean with good amenities. Parking was available at the front of the building. The Old Workshop is in a great location to explore the tip of west Cornwall, with Lands End only a simple 15 minute drive away. The “Minack Kit” provided in the room was a brilliant idea too, and made our evening there even more comfortable.
Incredibly clean. well managed and excellent value for money for budget hotel in an area which has become expensive in recent years. Great breakfast, handy parking and great location. Big supermarkets nearby, next to Long Rock beach and easy walking distance of Penzance bus and train stations. Bus stop right outside as well. Convenient on site parking. Excellent breakfast with full English and continental combined. Lovely, helpful staff.
Very clean, tidy and comfortable. Great location too. The pin pad security door meant I felt safe and the managers were very kind & helpful. There was a washing machine which wasn’t mentioned in the description.
The location is great, we walked to St Michael's Mount in around 30mins. Friendly staff and pretty cheap stay with parking. A restaurant and corner shop just over the road.
