Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Everything was absolutely amazing, best hostel we stayed in - cheap, great location and hotel quality. We had twin room with sea view and shower, spotless clean, comfy beds. Common areas fantastic too - massive kitchen, fully equipped, beautiful views from dining and sitting rooms. 100% recommend
Nice backpacker hostel with good atmosphere and friendly staff. Good location and reasonably priced. Rooms, beds and bathrooms were clean. I would recommend this place as your best budget option in Oban.
It is cheaper than anywhere else other than the youth hostel and it's very central. I didn't meet the staff but heard them speaking to other guests and they seemed very attentive and kind. It was quiet once people had stopped running up and down the stairs.
Perfectly located at a short distance from the main centre, Oban Backpackers is definitely the place to be for people on a budget trip. The dorms are spacious, with nice, comfy bunk beds. The toilets and showers are clean. And of course Richard. A gem of a person who makes you feel at home in minutes. He has got great sense of humor and can help you with any info regarding Oban and the isles around. We also met Venezia there who was very helpful. Will definitely visit them again on our next trip.
The Youth Hostel is in a great location, close to the town centre and all facilities. It's basic, for example, no TV, no kettle or tea making in the room and only one bedside lamp. However, we had an excellent shower, clean towels and bedding, and the room was warm and cosy.
This was my first time travelling and staying in a youth hostel alone. The staff were super welcoming and understanding. When I mentioned this was my first time, I was given a mini tour of the kitchen by a lovely member of staff who gave me a rundown of the way things work in youth hostels. I felt very safe. Thank you to the lady behind the desk.
