Looking for a hostel?
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Staff were welcoming and lovely, help was offered to take my case up to the room. Great location near the railway station and a short walk from the centre. Big breakfast included and alternatives offered. Good value for people on a budget.

Great location by river and lovely gardens. Reception was great and ordered us a taxi when our dog developed a sore leg and we needed to get to the train station. £20 for 2 dogs for the night was cheaper than most places with the usual charge being £30.

Amazing apartment which has literally everything you can think of! Decor is wonderful, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Hot tub was a wonderful addition and it felt so private in the safe garden. Great location. Already looking to return later in the year!

We booked a cheap and cheerful family room (yes, the bunk beds are stronger than they look!), very welcoming and cheery staff, and nice and clean and warm. Brilliant location if you feel like exploring a bit of Hadrian's Wall on foot or by bike, or popping in to Hexham or even Newcastle as the station is literally just over the road, nice little pub, plus very decent breakfast with good choices (hadn't realised it was in with the room rate, so even better!).
