YHA Hartington Hall, hotel in Hartington

Set in a grand 17th-century manor, this YHA is situated in Hartington, in the heart of the Peak District. The majority of rooms at YHA Hartington Hall contain bunk beds.

The room was adequate - as expected for the price. The kitchen facilities seemed great though we didn't really use them. The location is lovely.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Amazing location and staff were excellent, I arrived early and the lady on reception came to tell me when it was ok to check in, which she didn't have to do. Loads of room to chill out, drinks were good and cake was delicious. Great location in a wonderful old building with retained period features which is one of the main reasons I love coming to YHA hostels.

The staff were friendly and I appreciate the ethos of youth hostels. The main part of the property seemed to be a bit better than the outhouse we stayed in.

Great price for a family on a budget, and a lovely location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very basic which is good cause all we wanted to do was go to sleep, very family friendly. And a beautiful area of the world, a great location to visit Alton towers

I love that the place is cheap, very quiet and historical. Lower bunk bed is first come, first serve basis. I left a message because no one answered when I called twice but they have reserved the bed for my anyway. thank you 😊 buffet breakfast is worth the money! 😍😋 I also love that we have our own shower room at all female dormitory.

We always come back to this hostel. We've actually lost count how many times we've stayed but it's my all time favourite place to stay! Friendly staff, Comfortable rooms, beautiful location and an overall great place to come! Hartington hall has become a special place of mine now and I'll keep returning as many times as I can. I can't recommend this place enough. Best hostel I've ever stayed in.

I loved my entire stay. The best hostel I've ever been to. Very cosy, very clean, fabulous facilities and location. And all of this for £20 a night in a female dorm (5 beds altogether only). There's a cafe on site if you want breakfast or dinner (or drinks) or a well equipped kitchen.
