Base Camp Snowdonia, hotel in Betws-y-coed

Boasting a shared lounge, Base Camp Snowdonia is situated in Betws-y-coed in the Clwyd region, 19 km from Snowdon and 25 km from Snowdon Mountain Railway.

The location is ideal, a short walk to the centre of Betws-Y-Coed. A two minute walk to an excellent local pub that serves excellent food at a reasonable price. The beds at the hostel were comfortable, and the showers were fantastic. This place is a little gem and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for hostel accommodation in the area. The friendly staff were very welcoming and made us feel right at home from the minute we arrived. Base Camp has not been open for long, but already, it has established itself as a highly attractive place to stay. It will be our first choice for any future trips to the area.

It was cheap to stay but I chose it because there was no other option nearby while doing the Snowdonia Way. The owner, Brian was nice and helpful and the dog Blue and the cats were lovely. The shared bathrooms are newly renovated and clean.

Owners were very accommodating and helpful, and flexible with out specific requirements as well. The facilities were impressive, with a large and fully fitted kitchen, well maintained and all toilets and showers were clean and spacious. The setting was incredible also, we only stayed for one night, however will be returning. This hostel would make a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. And the building itself is memorable and unique, truly one of the best hostels you could visit.
