I had a lovely stay here! It’s just inside the gate of the city, with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. I stayed as a pilgrim, and Axx and Karin were very generous with sharing their experience as previous pilgrims. The hostel accommodates both pilgrims and non-pilgrims, but offers some features that I really appreciated as a pilgrim, like an early breakfast, a blessing, and a meditation room. I might’ve been too tired to care what the bed was like but I slept like a rock so I’m assuming it was comfortable!
Featuring a restaurant, bar and views of city, La vita e bella is located in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, 7 miles from Baigorry Church. Guests can have a drink at the snack bar.

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
This hostel was a great find. Great location, great host, wonderful pilgrim dinner with introductions and a pilgrim's spirit, breakfast was wonderful, and a great bagged lunch to send us on our way.
Additionally, this host was extremely environmentally consciousness which was appreciated by this guest. Accommodations were clean and extremely organized.
The host/owner is amazing. Very helpful in every way. The meals were exceptional. The hostel is immaculately clean. Staying there was a wonderful way to start the Camino.
