I loved staying in this hostal for 2 days during my recent Camino. It was clean and spacious and airy - and it had regular beds (no bunk beds). It is just a few minutes walk from the main square in Villafrance del Bierzo. It has a kitchen, but I went out to the restaurants in the immediate area.

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
My friend and I were walking to Santiago De Compostela and stayed in numerous hostels and boarding houses. Pension Fernandez was a really positive surprise: beautiful, clean and fresh room, really friendly and pleasant service. In addition, the accommodation was perfectly along our route. I highly recommend - really value for money!
Great location, right next to the river
Really comfortable bed
Great breakfast, really appreciated gluten free option and homemade gf cake
Beautiful hosts
Great location for walking the Camino. Extremely kind and helpful staff; large and very comfortable twin room with double beds; lovely little details in the room (nuts & sweets on arrival, mouthwash in the bathroom, etc). Very good breakfast.
Very friendly and warm welcome, nice setting of the hostel by the river with a garden. The place is clean and spacious with a good sized kitchen to use.
The host made us feel so at home. She even made dinner reservations for us. On the back of the hostel is a terrace with a small river running by. The rock to sit to put your weary feet in the cold river was a treat.
super friendly, clean, good facilities, great location
