As hostels go… well it’s more like a friendly Hotel. It’s beautifully done and they have got the balance right with the location of the rooms; the kitchen; outdoor space and pool area. The staff are very friendly and enthusiastic and have a great programme of events should you wish to join in. The atmosphere is really nice too, where evidently other guests are happy and it shows! Well organized food areas and cooking spaces. The rooms are fresh and clean and I had a great nights sleep. There’s parking too for many cars.

When 8 go to Medano it means stay at Ashavana, and it doesn't matter if the volunteers change, the overall quality of the stay and the people is always the same, or better

I was upgraded to the apartment instead of the room. The apartment was excellent - I was staying for one night but this could be a holiday home for a week! Truly nice experience, especially after a long day of hiking. The logistics were extremely simple and the apartment was located right on the GR 131 hiking trail. There are also many other local hiking trails in the surrounding area and Vilaflor town itself seems lovely as well.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
