Albergue SCQ, hotel in Santiago de Compostela

Set within 1.7 km of Tourism Office and 1.5 km of Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, Albergue SCQ offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Santiago de Compostela.

This hostel is super clean, with strict (reasonable) rules that keep it that way. The kitchen/social area is great and the showers clean. Easy to do laundry but only one machine so there might be a bit of a queue. There is a boot/shoe area which helps keep stinky shoe smell out of the hostel! The rooms are not overcrowded and there are some thoughtful touches for tired peregrinos! It a little bit out of central so we dropped off our backpacks before walking to the finish. Highly recommended and I would stay here again for sure.

Hostel is a renovated house with a sunny garden and a delightful space to hang outside in the sun, about 20m from the Camino to Fisterra/Muxia and host and his daughter are friendly and helpful. Good/stable beds with curtains, bottom linen and towel provided, 2 showers (male/female) for about 20 people but all was clean. Washer&Dryer available (fee), good quality pilgrim dinner (fee) and breakfast (fee), right at the bar/restaurant inside hostel, so you don’t need to go anywhere after arriving.

Arrived to the hostel in the evening, all wet and tired on my way to Finisterre. The man welcoming me was very kind, showed me the place around and gave me all the information I needed. I really enjoyed the common areas with a couch, armchairs, the tidy kitchen - it was super nice! There was a separate area for hanging the wet poncho. The best toasts for breakfast during my 6-weeks-long trip, along with coffee and fresh orange juice. Truly amazing, I highly recommend this place! :)
