The hosts Chelsea and Lenin were amazing. Some things about Costa Rica are hard like figuring out phone service or sending packages and they helped me with those things. Lenin’s mother came one night and made us a home cooked Costa Rican dinner, so yummy. They took us one doy out on an adventure on the ATV’s over the beach and threw the woods to a jungle bar. This is a cute little bungalow just steps from the beach which was well built and is well kept. There is a gate so it is secure. I don’t serf but I overheard Lenin teaching his students and he is an awesome teacher. Santa Teresa has the best sunsets! The Santa Teresa beach is beautiful with nice coves and I hear the waves are excellent. It is a walkable town with grocery stores and nice restaurants either way you turn on the main street.

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Everything was a 10 from the incredibly comfortable beds to the very cool rooms. We stayed in the mobile home and it is very spacious with loads of storage and a nice seating area and toilet. Kitchen was big open air and fairly well equipped. Nice social area. Right on a great beach and walking distance to most cafes. The best staff of any property I’ve ever stayed in. Mica and all the other reception staff sorted out any type of inquiry or problem the fastest I’ve seen.
The people were great, easy to meet new people and the layout of little houses made it feel like there was lots of space and privacy at the same time. Loved seeing hummingbirds out the window all day. Great surf lessons organised by the hostel, which were also much cheaper than others in town. Easy walking distance to lots of food options and supermarkets and a 3 min walk to the beach. Well equipped kitchens, which would get cleaned everyday and the showers had warm water. I felt very safe and welcomed as a solo traveller.
I enjoyed my time at Surf Paradise so much that I extended my stay to a full month. The location was perfect, 2 minutes walk from the beach and close to a range of cafes and restaurants. The hostel itself felt safe and comfortable and had really chill vibes, plus the staff were lovely people who were great to hang out with. The rooms were basic but clean and had A/C. If I'm ever back in Santa Teresa I will book this place again without hesitation.
ICO Living is a tasteful, small Hostel, that creates a very homey and safe atmosphere. The Hostel is cleaned everyday and at the most perfect location in Santa Teresa (very close to the beach and everything you might need). Traveling by myself, my stay at ICO Living was especially impacted by the wonderful people that work there. Being welcomed and included with open arms and care made my stay very memorable and if you plan on going to Santa Teresa, I can wholeheartedly recommend ICO Living. 🧡
The ‘beach house’ is definitely something you wouldn’t typically find in a hostel and has possibly one of the best locations in Santa Teresa.
Highly recommended to get assigned a room there as it feels more like an independent ‘airbnb’ and one of my best hostel experiences ever
Marco was very nice and helpful. The beds are amazing (double sized bunk beds) and were very clean. Very chill but still social vibe. Across from Selina North and close to the best surf beach of Santa Teresa. I visited when it was very new so a few things missed but I think these things will soon come! Till now one of the best hostel experiences I’ve had so far!!
