Lovely property in a great location. Swimming pool was really welcomed after a hot day. Owners super friendly and helpful. This is definately the proper to stay in if down near pavones
- the hostel is very good located, just 5 minutes from the main surf spot
- open kitchen which is really nice for cooking together and meet new people
- supermarket is around the corner and various restaurants as well
We chose Esperanza for its high ratings in cleanness, location, and bed comfort categories, which are natural priorities for a group of surfers. Besides being very satisfactory in such categories, Charlie and his team made us feel at home. We ended up doing all the activities together, such as cleaning the beach, sharing the waves, cooking dinners, and exchanging ideas with deep conversations, which brought our experience far beyond a simple hostel stay. Esperanza is, for sure the location to go back to catch the next swell.
Living in the Hostel Esperanza was a dream! So close from the beach, very functional and well equipped. Charlie and Nicole were so helpful, nice and available!

Had a great time here in povones, the waves are great, the people too and JJ is the best host. I can highly recommend this place if you're looking for a laidback hostel with everything you need to go to bed at 9 and go surfing at 5.
Beautiful and friendly hostel at Pavones, right next to the beach and restaurants. Relaxed, friendly staff and guests. We felt welcome and had a good time cooking meals in the shared kitchen and we were also able to work a little while there.
We loved everything about Swell Pavones. We had a wonderful 10 days there with little kids. Great location, I loved the groove and laid back athmosphere. Great equipped shared kitchen.
Perfect location, just 3 minutes walking to the surf point! The vibes were great, the kitchen was very well equiped and we even had a welcome bear, we felt very welcome by the hosts and the other guests :)
We had a great time in this hostel and if we ever came again to Pavones we would defenitly like to stay here!
