Loved our stay at Finca Lorena. It is in a very dreamy spot in the middle of nature, ideal to disconnect and relax. The rooms were clean and had all the amenities we needed, and Naty our host was super friendly and helpful. A real adventure of an experience!!

Eco Hostal Yuluka, hotel in El Zaino

Featuring a garden with an outdoor swimming pool, and a restaurant, Eco Hostal Yuluka offers eco-friendly accommodation with plasma TVs in Santa Marta. Breakfast and free parking are provided.

We unfortunately didn’t realise tayrona national park was closed until last minute so we booked in at Yuluka for 2 nights instead. Although it was above our backpacking budget, we are delighted we did! Lots to do around the area without actually entering the park, hikes, waterfalls and beautiful beaches. The place is stunning, gorgeous bed, outdoor shower & bath, huge TV and fabulous views. Really feel like you’re in a treehouse in the heart of the jungle.

Magdalena Beach House, hotel in El Zaino

Boasting a restaurant, Magdalena Beach House is set in the sidewalk in Los Cocos. and also provides a bar and a garden. Guests can enjoy ocean and garden views.

We had a lovely overnight stay at Magdalena. The room was small but comfortable, and although there wasn’t any air conditioning the fan was powerful enough to cool there air enough to sleep well. The mosquito netting worked perfect against the constant presence of mossies. We couldn’t get the wifi to work in the room but in the sitting area of reception it was very quick. Breakfast was delicious with a choice of Colombian, granola or pancakes. The availability to constantly fill up your water bottles with fresh drinking water was a welcome extra. In the comments from others they have put the short walk off the main road to the accommodation as a negative but I think it was a positive as the main road is so busy and huge trucks go along all hours of the day and night. Being a couple hundred metres back means it is so much quieter than the other accomm around. We loved the walk along Palomino Beach which is just across the road too.

The atmosphere in this place is amazing, really relaxed and chill staff and guests. The food and the drinks delicious and affordable! The pool clean and refreshing. Sleeping in a cabin basically outside was such a cool experience, felt safe and exciting, would recommend! Definitely the best hostel we have been out of all 10 during one month in Colombia.

Apart from the road to get there everything is AMAZING about this hostel! Couldn’t recommend it more. One of the, if not thé, best hostel I’ve stayed in. Beautiful (outdoor!!) rooms, a big area to wander around and get lost in and such a good place to meet people. The vibe was completely right!

The location is amazing!! So beautiful, with views of the jungle and the hills. There is múltiple places to chill, including pool, bath, net, swing and chairs. The food is amazing, definitely best hostel food I've ever had!! Its close enough to tayrona, el zaino entrance to walk (about 35 mins) plus some of it through the jungle which is beautiful. The staff were great, lots of volunteers who also speak English. We stayed in the hobbit room, outside shower and comfortable space.

I'm into everything, it is the best hostel in Colombia and the world, the arrival is idyllic, it is a place with immense serenity and beauty, which allows you to appreciate nature at its best, the food is an ambrosia and the family that owns this paradise on earth is really charming. Thank you Origen for a night full of Colombia Guajira Magic.

Calm and refreshing place to chill near the jungle, early in the morning you can even see some monkeys ! The hosts are so nice, and will help you with everything. The bed was comfy, the sound of the rivier and the nature to fall a sleep. The food from the host is really good, and cheap. The rivier down the hostel is really good for swimming or chilling on the rock. There are some waterfall to visit and Tayrona entrance (El Zaino) is really close

The view from the room was beautiful, we could see some animals during the day and night, the hostel is good for meeting new people from around the world as they propose a variety of common areas, the food they sell is pretty tasty as well. In general it has a good location if you plan to visit the Tayrona Park.

In itself being close to the beach (20 min walk) it’s a bonus, the actual tent was really spacious and we left our bags and phones charging there and nothing went missing which we felt safe for. Shower and toilets were working. There was plenty of security and staff to watch over your things. The restaurant was not cheap but really good quality food and drinks. Breakfast was delicious.
