Ecolodge Playa Brava Teyumakke, hotel in Calabazo

Ecolodge Playa Brava Teyumakke offers accommodations in Santa Marta. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. You can play table tennis at this hostel.

We liked everything about this place. The food was tasty and it wasn't overrun with tourists. The grounds were well kept and our cabana was comfy, spacious, and exceeded our expectations! We also got to see two different types of monkeys which was really fun! The owners at the ecolodge say the monkeys come almost every morning so most travelers will get to see them.

The Valley Tayrona hostel- A unique social jungle hostel, hotel in Calabazo

The Valley Tayrona hostel- A unique social jungle hostel features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in El Zaino.

Just wow! Great hostel with great staff. Always helpful and ready to accommodate your needs. Hostel has very chilled vibe. There are plenty of spots where you can just lay down and read or socialize if you wish. Kitchen was something that really did it for me! From delicious breakfast all the way to properly prepared medium rare steak? You don’t see it in other hostels. As a small extra was great evening yoga. Thank you!

Monte Verde Hostal, hotel in Calabazo

Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Monte Verde Hostal is located just 1.2 mi away from Tayrona National Park, in Santa Marta. Free WiFi access and parking are available.

The photos don't do this Hostel justice, the gardens around the huts and the surrounding mountain are amazing. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the pool is decent, and the food is great. Getting the bus to Tayrona National Park was super easy too, wait on the main road for next bus (blue, white, and green, running every 10/15 minutes) and be at the main park entrance in 7 minutes. Would also recommend going to Mendihuaca beach (pronounced mendy-whacker), use the same bus as Tayrona, just a few stops further down.

Eco Hostal Yuluka, hotel in Calabazo

Featuring a garden with an outdoor swimming pool, and a restaurant, Eco Hostal Yuluka offers eco-friendly accommodations with plasma TVs in Santa Marta. Breakfast and free parking are provided.

They have a nice pool near the entrance to enjoy, and I surprisingly didn't find myself covered in mosquito bites after sitting there to read at dusk (I am their favorite food). The young man who checked me in was nice and carried my luggage up the rather long stairs to the rooms. Remember when you're visiting that the property is on a hill and the rooms are up above the pool and check-in. They have a nice outdoor restaurant space and a good menu that they will cook for you, and I got a ham and cheese toastie for breakfast to take on my hike in the park. The location is just about 5 minutes from the entrance and they were so nice to drop me off since there weren't other guests going that morning. I could take a motorbike back that afternoon for about 3.000 pesos.

I loved how peaceful and accessible everything is, it's so close to Tayrona! The staff were amazing. The breakfast was delicious, and it was such a great place to get away. As a female solo traveler I was nervous but this place was great.

Sierra Tayrona hostel, hotel in Calabazo

Located in El Zaino, 29 miles from Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, Sierra Tayrona hostel provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

stayed here for two nights, in order to visit Tayrona National Park for a full day. if you come here by public bus i recommend to get off at "Plaza Tayrona" and walk 10min to the hostel. it is a quiet, peaceful little hostel next to the river (swimming is possible). good wifi, good mosquito net, hammock, common areas, cold water shower. a tienda is nearby. more food options are walking distance along the mainstreet. we did a big hike in Tayrona NP (about 17km / 10.5miles): left the hostel around 8AM, went by short bus-ride to Calabazo entrance (Bus around 3K / community fee 5K / entrance fee depends on your nationality). walked all the way to Cabo beach, then exit in the afternoon at Cañaveral gate (shuttle to Zaino 5K) and walked back to the hostel. saw different types of monkeys along the way (including red howler).

The location next to the beach was fantastic. Play Brava was a very quiet beach and during the day you have the beach almost to yourselves. The food served wasn't the cheapest but it was very tasty and the staff we very kind and helpful. They provided towels and soap for the shared chalet. They also had a swimming pool which was great since the sea was too choppy to swim in. Beds were clean and comfortable for this kind of property.

Stunning location! The bungalows are really worth the extra cost. We made an effort to get there as early as possible and were able to check in immediately, which was definitely worth it. The beach is so beautiful and it was nice having our own beach chairs and shady area. Having a pool to dip into was great too as the water at the beach is quite rough and not safe for swimming. The restaurant food was really good (although a bit pricey which is to be expected) and the staff was very nice. 100% would recommend staying here over Cabo San Juan!!

Great location. Could hear the sea waves from your room. Amazing cabana. We had the family one and we felt so lucky to have so much space, with rocking chairs on the balcony looking out the sea, hammocks under the cabana to relax and our own (very nice) toilet under the cabana. Sociable dinners as you can choose to sit at a large communal table (or smaller ones if your not feeling sociable).

Lovely cabaña right at Playa Brava beach. Jumping into the sea right from your cabin. Not very cheap, but worth the money. Desolate place, with only this option to stay - and they have room for about 50 people a night. The hardest thing is getting here, but it's a wonderful journey (easier, but longer, when coming from San Cabo de San Juan, but I definitely recommend coming through Calabazo park entrance). Time off for 'just us and nature/ocean'.

Absolute paradise in nature full of flowers, birds and monkeys. Great swimming pool to hang out at after a busy day in Tayrona NP. Also a great location right next to a not so touristic entrance of the park.
