Location is really good as it is at Lianglukou subway station (Line 1) which is very central and many of the major tourist attractions are easily accessible in about 10 minutes e.g. Raffles City at Chaotianmen, the cable car and Hongya Cave at Xiaoshizi (though you have to walk 5-10 minutes), E'ling Park at E'ling. Further away on Line 1, you can also get to Shapingba Railway Station (can take high-speed rail to cities such as Chengdu) and Ciqikou Ancient Town.
The hostel is about 2 minutes walk from the subway station. Take Exit 3 and go up onto the main road. It's not obvious cos it's on the 3rd floor of Crown Plaza (I used Google Maps so I'm not sure if a China-based app would be more helpful) and there were no signages to the hostel. Thankfully, I could figure out the Chinese name of Crown Plaza and I only saw that when I looked inside a nearby building.
Conveniently situated in the centre of Chongqing, 吃山文化青年旅店 provides air-conditioned rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge.

The 4-person shared room was really comfortable & having a shower & toilet in the room was a bonus. The staff were also very helpful, with food suggestions & help in booking a Didi for me to the piers to check in for the Yangtze River cruise. The hostel itself was close to attractions & the piers.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
The facilities in this hostel are good, but the people are what really made it great! The owner made fresh bread every day and supplied free ice lollies in the freezer. He also recommended tons of activities and made me an itinerary for my stay. I don't think I've ever felt more welcomed into a hostel, and I couldn't recommend it enough.
A very good stay. Very comfortable beds. Of course this review is regarding a hostel, not a hotel. Still expect to get a hostel bed. But for being so cheap, comfortable, clean, good location and nice staff as well, there wasn't anything to complain. It was my second time here after staying there during pre pandemic. And I felt they were doing their work with the same spirit I felt already last time. Really taking care of the people, and you can feel that they are making effort to give you a good stay.
I really loved Only Cafe and Backpacker hostel and the stuff working there.
The location it's superb, the views from the rooftop and balcony are insane, the installations are cleaning and really good value for the price, and they often bake bread which is amazing for snaking.
I would absolutely go back and I 100% recommend it.
This property was really good value for money! Comfortable lounge, dorm rooms and bunk beds. I’m glad I stayed at this hostel… was a really good and lovely experience. Staff were very nice too!
I had amazing stay at Only Cafe and Backpacker. The location was close to subway and local market. I could enjoy local food and dessert 😊. Room and facilities at the hostel were tidy. I was able to sleep well without any problems. And I would like to thank you for the super friendly and helpful owner. You guys are awesome!
The hostel is very clean and convenient, the hosts are warmhearted and hospitable. The information provided (in both Chinese and English) is useful. Definitely recommend this place to budget backpackers across the world!
The hostel has a great location, only a few minutes away from metro line 1. Everything in the central part of Yuzhong District is easily reachable and accessible. Sounds obvious, but it is a hostel, so you get what you pay for. In this sense, however, the private room that we had was a decent size with a huge bed, and the room is well-provided with electric sockets.
