Super clean washrooms and common areas. A big supermarket closely located to the hostel from where you can buy meals and warm in the hostel common area, which is good if you are on a budget trip. Connectivity to the city center is also decent. You can also buy public transport tickets at the reception. The common area is huge with a small bar.
The Oldtown Hostel Otter and its old-established Wüste Bar is a stylish place for the young-at-heart in Zürich's Old Town, about 984 feet from the Zürich-Stadelhofen train station and the lake.

This is probably the best hostel experience I've ever had! Hostel Otter was incredibly clean, the location was perfect, and all the staff were friendly. I was surprised to see that the hostel provided free coffee and tea at all hours in the common room. Additionally, from 8:20-10:30 am toast and cereal was provided free of cost. This was a nice surprise as I was trying to save money while in Switzerland. I would definitely stay again!

This is a hostel designed to be minimal effort for the owners. It's a sleep only place and the lockers are out in the hallway. All the beds are in one large room. The beds are proper pods. Decently comfortable and spacious. It wasn't very noisy considering how many beds were there. There's no social area. Towels are provided, but that's a necessity considering there's no where to hang up your own. However, I noticed the towels were all used in the evening and not replenished early morning.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Excellent location by the lake and a short walk away from the train station. The hostel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast and a possibility to have a quick dip in the lake.
Stunning location, delicious food, lovely staff and the place is very beautiful and clean!
We took the boat from the Hostel to Zurich, amazing experience.
As I was the only one at the property, the owner gave me 4-bedroom with lavatory/shower. For me not shower then with the male clients. That was very kind of him. I felt safe and that’s priceless.
Free parking (if you can get it), great location, good price. A real experience with the interesting Fawlty Tower-like staff. If you know what you're getting into (for instance SHARED BATHROOM, READ THE OTHER REVIEWS), it's fine.
