Unbelievable sights of the mountains nestled in the valley!! Winter wonderland in the middle of this quiet small town. Staff were gracious and funny. The bar and pub kitchen onsight was a cool place to mingle with other travelers, all while having other food options across the street. I definitely will come here again.
Boasting Rocky Mountain views, HI-Banff Alpine Center offers a café and a bar. Free WiFi and self catering kitchens are available for guests to use. Banff town center is 4 minutes' drive away.
Located in Kananaskis Village, HI Kananaskis Wilderness - Hostel offers barbecue facilities. The property provides a ski pass sales point, as well as a shared lounge and a terrace.

The atmosphere of the place was super nice. It was well equipped. The wifi worked well. The common area has lots of tables, dishes, and a fireplace. It is in a good location for exploring Kananaskis and the Nordic spa. Also not too far (in Canadian terms) from Canmore or Banff.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Very clean, great location, amazing views of the mountains from the chill area and the rooms. The kitchen facilities were very good, and I liked the bed curtains for privacy and the fact the bunk beds are secured to the wall so they don’t rattle when the person above is getting into bed.
Best hostel I’ve stayed in. Rooms were very clean as were bathrooms. The beds also have curtains which is a great thing in hostels gives you much more privacy. Staff were very helpful with any questions and they have lots of flyers for information of what to do in the area.
The hostel is very well designed and well managed. One of the best.
My only discomfort was the air becoming stuffy in the dormitory. Due to someone closing the only window during the night. A minimum amount of default ventilation should be guaranteed in dormitories containing several occupants.
Great location with an amazing view, bus stop to Banff directly in front, affordable in comparison to the hotels in the city, lot of storage in the bunk beds and curtains, always clean, big kitchen with everything you need
Staff were so friendly and did everything they could to help. The best hostel I’ve stayed in. Super clean, had everything you needed. Would love to return
The Drake is exactly what you need for a quick cheap great location (upgrade to river view). Now I know it’s old an a little dated but it’s fantastic for us. We love to walk and cruise the town, to which this location is amazing
Absolutely fantastic place!
I loved everything from the welcoming staff to the great rooms, the people, the kitchen! It became like a home to me and it was just perfect. Was without a doubt the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve travelled for 9 years all over the world.
Loved the curtains of the room so much.
10/10 recommend! Best hostel I ever stayed! Great location in Canmore and close to Banff/Lake Louise! It was super clean and comfortable and felt really new! Helpful staff and nice/clean common areas! Bed is big with a privacy curtain and comfy mattress and big locker. Free parking in front of the hostel. I would book it in an instead again and will def come back!
