Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
It’s a really nice hostel, with beautiful outdoor space and a pool. It’s perfectly located in the old part of town in possibly the prettiest street in Sao Joao! It’s very nicely renovated, beds were super comfortable and you could actually sit on a bottom bunkbed! Dorm where I stayed was very spacious as well. Breakfast was AMAZING! Such a big selection! And the Volunteers were the nicest people ever! Highly recommended!!!
Basic and small but very nice and clean room in the city centre. It is basically one apartment with a few rooms for rent. The owner doesn't speak English (like almost nobody in Brasil) but she is very friendly and welcoming and communication goes easily. From the place you could walk very easy to the old town, just across the bridge. Highly recommended budget option for staying in the city.
The cleanest hostel I had stayed so far in my trip in Brazil! Beds were super comfortable, there is a small kitchenette inside the room with a microwave and a fridge. A drying rack is provided.
A huge BH supermarket is just a few walking minutes away, plus from this very road you can take the local bus to Tiradentes (bus stop just opposite the gas stop).
very attentive and accommodating staff. The hostel was a big rustic house, was beautiful, the rooms were big enough and private bathroom for each one. the breakfast was delicious and with a lot of variety to choose from. highly recomended!
