Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
The accommodation was very clean and the furniture and general equipment was in good shape. There was plenty of space in the common room and kitchen. Breakfast was included, which was a great extra. The room was large and each bed had its own large safe. The staff were super friendly, helpful and made me feel very welcome! All in all, its really a great hostel and if I ever come back to Mackay I would love to stay there again!
Great location. Relaxed quiet couple of days. Hundred percent better than the cheaper motels on Nebo Road. Well worth the 20 minute drive and the Eimeo Hotel 5 minutes away, but the little bar beside the pool is perfect.
Basic but clean and functional room. Good value. Great location across the road from Shamrock Hotel and around the corner from an IGA. Would stay here again when looking for budget accommodation.
Value for money, clean and comfortable. Short drive to supermarket and plaza for food, great location. We always choose to stay @ Cool Palms when on a travel budget as it provides everything we need for a good nights rest.
