I recently stayed at Sakhra Hostel during my trip to Dubai, and it was my first time ever staying in a hostel. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement.
First and foremost, cleanness is something that usually worries me about hostels, but not here. Sakhra Hostel was spotless! The place is cleaned daily, including the bathrooms, which are usually a weak point in hostels. Not only that, but the bed sheets are changed regularly and even sprayed for freshness. It’s rare to find this level of attention to cleanliness in a hostel setting.
The location is also incredibly convenient. There’s a supermarket less than a minute away, and it’s about a 10-minute walk to Oud Metha Metro Station. You’ll also find a pharmacy and restaurants nearby, making it easy to grab whatever you need without much hassle.
What really made my stay special, though, was the owner, Amir, who happens to be an Egyptian man. He was beyond friendly, always cheerful, and went out of his way to assist me. I accidentally left some belongings in a taxi, and he didn’t hesitate to make multiple calls to help me retrieve them. When my credit card didn’t work for an online purchase, Amir even offered to pay using his personal card. His kindness didn’t stop there—after I returned to my country, he texted me to make sure I arrived safely. It’s rare to meet someone who cares this much, and it was truly an honor to have met him.
The hostel was well-organized with clear rules that created a peaceful atmosphere. I appreciated the no-drinking policy, which kept things clean and orderly—a rarity in shared accommodations.
The fast WiFi was a big plus, making it easy to stay connected and get work done. For the price, the service, cleanliness, and convenience were excellent.
Overall, my stay at Sakhra Hostel was exceptional. I can't wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dubai. Thanks, Amir, for the amazing hospitality!

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
