The couple who ran the place, Nong and Joy, were fantastic. They helped me settle in and due to the late hour that I checked in, Joy offered to make dinner for me and also gave me a fruit platter with mangoes and watermelon. Simply delicious. The Kung Nok Tha Resort - a TOP address I highly recommend the resort!! We stayed there for a few days and were absolutely thrilled: The location directly on the small river is magical and the beautiful bungalows are built in a great bamboo grove. It really comes up with a jungle feeling. The food was very tasty and authentic, real original Thai cuisine. Chef Wirot was incredibly helpful in all matters: shuttle service, great tips for excursions (including his scooter) and even took us on a private Sun Rise tour in the jungle. The food, cooked by Wirot's wife, was very tasty and authentic - real original Thai cuisine. If you want to experience the original Thailand, this is the place for you: we were the only foreigners there. We will visit the Khao Luang again and then definitely again at Wirot in the Kung Nok Tha Resort.
